I recently have been taking a lot of pictures at the San Diego Zoo for painting references. I am working on some true to form paintings of these animals but I decided to stray a little with this expressional series.
I am trying to capture more of the animals energy with the brush strokes and color. Keeping it energetic and less refined.
I did this in the beginning purely for myself to have a little fun. But since I received an overwhelming response to this style I have have started creating several more of different animals
